Introduction

The Tigh Na Cloich Hotel is situated on a level site, in a peaceful elevated position, located in central Pitlochry, overlooking Atholl Road. Full directions are available on the website. Directions can be emailed or posted to you.

If arriving by car and using SAT NAV we can be found at PH165AS.

On arrival to the hotel there is a tarmacked drive leading to the car park.

We have 10 letting bedrooms, some of which are double, king, twin or family accommodation.

We pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of customer service to all our guests, and encourage this through detailed ongoing staff training in all our areas of hospitality.

Tigh Na Cloich Hotel is centrally located in Pitlochry, easy access driveway from Larchwood Road.

Pitlochry railway station is 5-minute walk away. Taxis are available at the train station.

The Bus station is also situated next to the railway station.

Pitlochry has several taxi companies that provide a service within the local area. We advise should you require a taxi service to pre book in advance.

Hotel Car Parking and Arrival

There is a small private car park towards the front of the hotel, with marked bays and all on a level. The car park is situated opposite the main front door entrance of the hotel. Please be advised that there is a one car per room policy. Assistance with luggage is available.

Car Park lighting switches on automatically after dark.

Parking your car on the premises at Tigh Na Cloich you do so at your own risk. We accept no responsibly for loss, theft or damage to any vehicle parked on site.

Arrival, Main Entrance and Reception

The building is accessed only by the front door, and there are two small steps at the main entrance into the porchway and hall area. There is a call bell on the right-hand side in the porch area for attention.

Upon entry to the hotel, the floor covering is carpeted, with complete level access to the lounge and conservatory on the right and dining area to the left. The reception desk is situated straight ahead at the end of the hallway. The reception desk is 1 metre high.

Once your booking is confirmed. We encourage you to complete your registration details online prior to your arrival. If you have difficulty, we can assist at check in or whilst sitting in the lounge.

Due to the nature of the Victorian style building, we do not have a lift. However, we can offer porterage.

To the right of reception there is the staircase leading to most of the bedrooms in which are on the first floor, with the exception of room 7 on the second floor, and one ground floor bedroom.

The staircase has a firm wooden hand rail on the left-hand side going up and the right-hand side coming down. There are 12 stairs leading to the first floor.

The ground floor bedroom is on the level and is situated to the right-hand side of the staircase and reception. This room can be made up as a 6ft super king bed or twin configuration. The shower ensuite is fully tiled on the walls and floor areas. Vertical and horizontal grab rails are fixed to the wall in the shower and by the toilet.

Public Rooms

Lounge and Conservatory

The spacious lounge leads into the conservatory, which is situated off the hallway. This area is on the level and fully carpeted using short pile.

Furnishings in the lounge and conservatory is a mixture of comfortable sofas, easy chairs and high back seating chairs & wicker furniture.

The welcome lounge benefits from good natural daylight as the conservatory windows face south.

Restaurant/Dining Room

Full drinks service is available in the lounge, and dining room and external garden sun terrace.

(The UK Alcohol licensing hours may be restricted in line with Government Legislation)

Drinks may be ordered via room service or at reception.

There is one dining room opposite the lounge, completely on the level.

Lighting is mainly natural daylight in the dining room at breakfast service, whilst during dinner service lighting is low level and dimmer with candles on the tables.

The dining room is on the level and has seating for 20 guests. Breakfast and dinner is table service only. Staff are trained to fetch and carry from the kitchen, so that in these social distancing times, you are encouraged to stay seated. Our cutlery is stainless steel and our crockery is a mixture of white and mist and slate grey.

Menus are available in large print if required, staff are on hand to discuss dietary requirements. Please advise at time of booking, prior to your arrival and reaffirm upon check in.

Breakfast service is by pre order from 8am – 9.30am. Dinner must be pre booked in advance.

Dietary Requirements and food allergen labelling 2014

Tigh Na Cloich is able to cater for most diets with sensible prior notice, including:

-Vegetarian

-Vegan

Allergies including: dairy, nuts, citrus, soya, egg, gluten

We would kindly ask all guests to advise us in advance of any special dietary requirements, so that we can make specific preparations in time for dinner service.

Bedrooms

We have 10 ensuite letting bedrooms at Tigh Na Cloich Hotel.

Eight of which are on the first floor, one on the second floor and one ground floor bedroom.

There is a mixture of double, king, twin or family accommodation. Please contact the hotel directly to request your preferences.

All rooms differ in size, style and aspect and all are individually decorated and furnished.

Bedding is hypo allergenic and non-feather pillows, duvets and cushions. There are additional pillows and blankets made available upon request.

All bedrooms have free WIFI, flat screen wall mounted TV and telephones.

Bedrooms are lit with good natural light and good lighting with overhead lights, bedside lights and dressing table lights all well positioned for ease of use.

Ensuites

Our ensuites all provide slightly different layouts and sizes and facilities, some with bath, some with walk in shower, some with shower over bath.

Laundry Service

It is not available to guests at this time.

Garden Grounds and Paths

The mature gardens are mainly lawned with some large trees. The paths are mainly concrete slabs, with stepping stones through the garden.

Access to the Town Centre

There is direct access to the town centre, via six concrete steps leading to the garden patio terrace. Then onwards, down through the gentle sloping pathway and through the garden gate, towards Atholl Road. Just a few minutes’ walk to all that Pitlochry has to offer. Please take care when using the garden path as this may be slippery after any rain fall.

There are no leisure facilities at the hotel.

Additional Information

If you require any assistance during your stay, please contact reception on the ground floor or via the telephone in the bedroom. There is a duty manager onsite 24 hrs for your safety and security.

Fire Procedures

Each room displays our fire evacuation plan on the back of the bedroom door, please familiarise yourself with this plan, in the event of an emergency.

We also provide guests with a Red Door hanger telling us that you may have difficulty in the case of fires and emergencies. Please advise us also if you believe it is necessary.

There is a fire evacuation procedure in place. In the event of an emergency Alarm bills are a loud continuous sound. Someone will come to your room to assist with evacuation out of the hotel building and to a safe meeting place.

Doctors and Hospitals

We can assist with arranging appointments at our local doctor’s surgery. The Athol Medical centre in Pitlochry Tel 01796 472558

The nearest hospital is Perth Royal Infirmary, in Perth, approx. 45 min drive south on the A9

Mobility aids are available to hire in Pitlochry with prior notice.

All staff have regular training including disability awareness.
